"You're Such A Good Girl!" #3

If you've been reading my stories, you'll know I've never liked cars!
"I'm going to puke all over this hideous picnic rug if you don't stop this minute."

"Let me out!"
"LET! ME! OUT! I SAY!"
"W...w^w *!wh!a..a!..aaHh*!!..h..h...
......sniffle."

Well, look at me now!

Okay, so I can still be a little whingey. But never! NEVER! when it's just me and My Cushion in the dream machine.

"You're A Good, Good Girl, Jaw-jaw-jahhh..." he tells me, when we're alone together.

Haha. The man is so besotted.

p>s> Isn't it amazing?

I've learnt how to sit in a car without crying.

And My Cushion still hasn't learnt how to say my name right.

Keep working on your Cushion, Georgia! Trust me, humans are a lot harder to train than dogs. And we are not nearly as set in our ways, as your post clearly proves!

Most dog trips in the car end up at the groomer or the vet. I'm not sure why any dog would want to go in the car. Walkies are much better.

@ Jan - strangely enough, those are 2 places we DON'T go to in the car unless she's really sick and can't walk to the vet's. groomer? WHAT groomer? ;p

That's awesome! I wish we could get Bella to ride in the car so well.

dear Ms Lori,

my humans have been very anxious to make me A Good Girl. i think i was quite bad when i first came so it's been hard work. also, since it's the Train Your Dog Challenge at Ms Pamela's this month, they wanted her to know they haven't been sitting on their fat bums all year ;p

sorry, but there are a few more to go because there was a lot to teach me.

Wow, I'm so impressed, GLP. There are only 2 things I'd love to eradicate from Frankie's behavior but I don't think I've got any show of getting him to walk nicely on lead because I've got to stop him wanting to sniff every blade of grass first. And I just can't seem to make myself more interesting than a blade of grass. How sad is that:(

Looking forward to reading what else you've become good at!

Don't give up on Frankie, Ms Sue! I used to be a monster on the lead and had all sorts of devious collars. Of course, maybe you're not as evil and demanding as my humans.

GLP, my Charley used to hate car rides too. She never became really enamoured with them, but she did learn to tolerate them in order to get to her favourite park or beach.
Your Cushion's car looks pretty sporty - don't you need one of those long scarves wrapped around your neck, ends streaming out behind you, and a pair of goggles?

Miss GLP. You must have talked to Jersey and Dexter. They *love* riding in the car since it always takes them to fun and interesting places, like the pet store for treats! Very good job. You *are* such a good girl!

Huh? What? You ride in the car without crying?! It actually looks like you're smiling in that one shot! You are an absolute Good Girl.

Now, I can understand how the first two behavior adjustments might be a result of holiday camp, but THIS? Did GLP go on car rides at camp? Uncanny.

Also, did you know that in the deep south USA some people pronounce Georgia (as in the state) Jaw-jah? Not me, though. :)

Good dog!
